For example, I have placemats that are a solid eggplant color with cloth napkins which are a stripe pattern, with red, orange, purple, and green tones. I then added woven wood napkin rings, and have red candles as a centerpiece.

Thanks to the many color tones in my napkins, I have a variety of dishes and centerpieces to coordinate with the rest of the decor.

If you have more wall space to fill in these areas, and you want to do it with something other than pictures, I would recommend pieces used for decorative storage, or shelves to hold display items. Picture frames with hooks to hang your keys, or shelves that hold wine glasses or bottles.

Shelves are an easy way to display several items at once, such as shelf letters, photos, vases or, candles.
