Framing Ideas...
Fun Ways to Spruce up Your Walls
Do you find it difficult to find pre-framed art to coordinate with your decor, and finding it in the size that you want for your space?
Here is a simple solution that makes finding the right piece of art for your wall, and that you may be able to do yourself.
Framing posters is an easy way to add some life to your walls, and gives you more of a variety when making a selection for your art piece.
When deciding on the right piece for your wall space, get an idea of how much of that space you would like to fill. I would recommend measuring the area of wall space first.
Next, get an idea of the colors and/or theme that you would like your piece to include. There are many ways to find the piece that you are looking for. I usually shop at my local arts and crafts store, or look at a few on-line art sites that sell posters. I have found it easier to browse for art on-line because they categorize the posters by artist, type of art, and size.
Then, you will want to choose the right frame for the piece. Keep in mind, the size of your frame, as it will add to the size of your piece. When choosing a frame, I always like to select one that will add contrast to the poster and the wall behind it. I have found many inexpensive frames at my local arts and crafts store, with many sizes and styles to select from. They also sell many styles of matting that can really add to your piece if you choose.
You may find that framing the poster yourself is easy to do. In some cases though, especially when you are matting the piece, you may want to have it framed by a professional. This will add to the cost of your art piece, but keep in mind that it may be worth it since you got to choose the right size for the space that you want to fill. But, I have found that it doesn't cost much more to have a professional do it, if you choose a frame and matting that is already sold in store, and doesn't need to be custom ordered.
You will find that framing your poster can really make a nice piece for your space, that will give you many options to choose from to fit your style and preferences. And, another reason to frame your poster is because it is sealed nicely in the frame. You will not have the problem of having to tape or tack it to the wall, which can add damage to the wall, and would cause the ends of your poster to curl or tear.
